Achievements

The weather conditions during the year 2004-2005 were not favourable for Agriculture in Himachal Pradesh. The rains during Monsoon season of 2004 (June-September) were excess in Kinnaur,normal in Hamirpur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Una districts. However, the rains were deficient in the remaining districts of Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Sirmaur& Solan districts and scanty in Lahaul-Spiti district. For Himachal as a whole, the total rainfall during entire monsoon season was 26% of the annual normal rain fall. The performance of south west monsoon during June to September, 2004 in different districts of Himachal Pradesh is given as below:
